Previously, Joe watched the fourth chapter of Adventures of Captain Marvel. This time, they continue with the fifth chapter.

RETCON! Captain Marvel flies in and turns the steering wheel at the last second.

After making sure Betty is okay, Captain Marvel jumps onto the roof of the garage and casually throws a man off of it.

One of the henchmen, Owens (Stanley Price) attempts to escape in the elevator, but Captain Marvel grabs the cables and pulls it up by hand.

Owens says he’s never seen underneath the Scorpion’s mask. So they take him to a meeting of the expedition members to see if he recognizes any of their voices.

He doesn’t. On the one hand, he’s lying. On the other, as previously mentioned, his voice is played by a different actor anyway. On a mysterious third hand, in later chapters, many of these people will hear the Scorpion and not recognize his voice. This is only a concern in this chapter.

Anyway, Owens is slipped a note by the Scorpion and he tells Billy that there’s a hideout in a mine.

Billy turns into Captain Marvel and goes into the mine. There he sees and hears what he thinks is the Scorpion, but it turns out to be a radio wearing the Scorpion’s costume.

Using the lenses available on the statue, The Scorpion melts the mine around Captain Marvel. CLIFFHANGER!
