Joe Heath is a big fan of comic books and watching things in order. So they made this spreadsheet containing every serial, short, film, television episode, commercial, motion comic, and web series based on a comic book. Now they're watching them all. Previously, Joe watched the third chapter of Adventures of Captain Marvel. This time, they continue with the fourth chapter.
Adventures of Captain Marvel: “Chapter Four: Death Takes the Wheel” - 16:51 (Available on Tubi.)

RETCON! Billy reconnects the wires, hears the warning, and Shazams out of the plane.
NOT DEAD:

The Scorpion gets Carlyle’s lens before Billy can. But they do find a small scorpion figure that they think must come from a curio shop run by a man named Chan Lai (Tetsu Komai).
Kudos for casting an actual Japanese actor, but everything else surrounding this character is fairly racist. Head’s up.
As Billy and Betty head out, they are almost murdered by a falling planter.

After narrowly escaping this dastardly assassination attempt, Billy goes to Chan Lai’s store where he is soon knocked out and tied up.
Meanwhile, Betty heads to a parking garage to see who rented the truck that kidnapped her during the last chapter. She spots Barnett and follows him to the top of the garage. Barnett goes through a secret entrance and Betty overhears him talking about Billy. She is caught eavesdropping and she attempts to escape in the elevator. Barnett jumps in his car and an intense race to the bottom of the garage ensues. Barnett wins and Betty is kidnapped. Again.
Back at the shop, Billy manages to free his gagged mouth and “Shazam!”s himself into Captain Marvel. He finds out that Betty is captured and where they have her after he threatens to throw a guy onto a big pile of spikes. What a nice guy.
However, Betty manages to escape on her own. She steals Barnett’s car and drives through the secret entrance wall, knocking herself out. The car somehow manages to speed down the levels of the garage, easily making all of the turns despite Betty being unconscious.
However, when she exits the garage at ground level, the car crashes into the building across the street and Betty presumably dies.

Should you watch it, though?: This is easily the roughest chapter, what with the racism and the deadly planters. The car/elevator chase is interesting, but Betty being an amazing driver while unconscious is pretty ridiculous. Still, if you’ve made it this far, you’re in it for the long haul now, buddy.
Tune in next time for Adventures of Captain Marvel "Chapter Five: The Scorpion Strikes" (Available on Tubi.)
