Joe Heath is a big fan of comic books and watching things in order. So they made this spreadsheet containing every serial, short, film, television episode, commercial, motion comic, and web series based on a comic book. Now they're watching them all. Previously, Joe watched the eighth chapter of Adventures of Captain Marvel. This time, they continue with the ninth chapter.
Adventures of Captain Marvel: “Chapter Nine: Dead Man's Trap” - 16:42 (Available on Tubi.)

The explosion runs Lang’s car off of the road and they are picked up by Barnett.
The Scorpion puts Lang in a torture cage filled with spikes to get the location of his lens. We only see his shadow on the wall as he screams in pain and gives in to the Scorpion’s demands.
In a storage room, Billy finally wakes up and turns into Captain Marvel. He grabs a henchman’s gun and throws it against a wall. It fires and shoots the henchman in the back. Counting it.

Captain Marvel proceeds to chase the Scorpion through secret passages, Scooby Doo-style. At some point, The Scorpion gets his mask caught on a hook and runs off without it. For the briefest of seconds we see the face of what is clearly his stuntman and not at all any of our suspects.
Meanwhile, Lang calls Betty and tells her where the lens is. He’s about to warn her of a death trap guarding the lens when he is distracted by the arrival of the now unmasked Scorpion. Hey, he knows that guy! The Scorpion shoots him, then runs around with things conveniently blocking his face from the audience like he’s in an Austin Powers gag. He grabs the golden scorpion and runs off.
In his dying breath, Lang warns Captain Marvel that Betty is in danger, but doesn’t say who the Scorpion is. Thanks, Lang.

Betty arrives where Lang’s lens is and almost gets shot by a henchman with a rifle, but is stopped by Captain Marvel’s favorite weapon: his fists.
Meanwhile, Barnett and his men start breaking into Lang’s safe, causing a pair of rotating guns to slide out of the wall. The guns slide back into the wall when the henchmen hide after seeing that Betty and Billy are heading their way. Billy incorrectly assumes the death trap Lang warned them about was the guy with the rifle. So they open the safe and the guns fire. CLIFFHANGER!

Should you watch it, though?: There’s some interesting visuals in this one with the shadow torture cage, the secret passage chase, and The Scorpion hiding his face. Other than that, it’s a pretty standard chapter.
Tune in next time for Adventures of Captain Marvel "Chapter Ten: Doom Ship" (Available on Tubi.)
